SAGE & SEED NETWORK

We support women leading grassroots community impact initiatives, alongside those nurturing early-stage ideas from their "kitchen table." Most of these women are driven by personal lived experience—having navigated hardship, mental health

challenges, or systemic barriers—and are motivated by a deep desire to transform

their personal stories into local solutions. However, these founders face

significant, unaddressed difficulties. Operating mostly from isolated home

environments, they experience profound founder burnout, anxiety, and social

isolation. Working in silence without structured guidance, they encounter barriers

around financial literacy, legal governance, and navigating local statutory systems.

Through direct community consultation during our annual BCP Women’s

Symposium and post-event feedback, these women explicitly identified their key

needs: Emotional & Mental Wellbeing: Overcoming isolation through

psychologically safe peer connection. Practical Mentorship: Guidance from

experienced leaders ("Sages") to build operational confidence. Structural

Capability: Transitioning informal ideas into sustainable, funder-ready social

ventures. We identified these needs through primary consultation slating back

over three years, including focus groups, feedback slips, and direct outreach

during our annual symposium. Participants consistently voiced feeling

overwhelmed by administrative complexity while trying to support their

communities. By delivering early-intervention peer mentorship, capacity-building

workshops, and supportive community gatherings through the Sage & Seed

Network, we tackle isolation at its root. We empower these women to build

personal resilience, safeguard their mental health, and transform their kitchen table ideas into sustainable community assets.
