About International Women's Day Conference

This is a worldwide Women's Day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political accomplishments of women. This day also commemorates a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Just like in other parts of the world, at a local level we experience meaningful activity as the community get together to honour women's achievements.

The aim of the day is to create a platform for women with their friends and families to share their journey of success, empower, inspire and support others with their stories.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

International Women’s Day: A Celebration of Women’s Achievements

What is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8th, is a global day commemorating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It also serves as a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Why is it important?

IWD is a significant day for:

  • Celebrating women’s achievements: Recognising the contributions of women from all walks of life.
  • Raising awareness about gender equality: Promoting understanding of gender-based issues.
  • Calling for positive change: Advocating for a more equitable world for women.

How is it celebrated?

Celebrations for IWD vary across countries and communities, but common activities include:

  • Events and gatherings: Conferences, workshops, and other events focused on women’s empowerment.
  • Social media campaigns: Sharing inspiring stories, using relevant hashtags, and participating in online discussions.
  • Community initiatives: Volunteer work, fundraising, and other activities that benefit women.
